Take an exciting journey through the history and discover one of the world most important collections of Ancient Art in the heart of Naples.
The history of the Archaeological Museum of Naples begins from the 18th century, when Charles III, King of Naples, started to explore the area destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius and brought to Naples a great number of Roman archaeological artefacts. From that period the collection has been continuously enriched through new acquisitions and today displays a huge number of exhibits from Roman, Greek and Egyptian art, including many finds from Pompeii and Ercolano.
During our private tour, you will dig deep into history and discover ancient relics such as mosaics, statues, paintings, objects of everyday life and even the erotic objects from the so called “Secret Cabinet”. Your expert guide will introduce you to the highlights of the museum and give you unique insight into the culture, art and traditions of the ancient society.
